Frida's Coffee Home
Direct Trade Beans to Small Batch Roasting
An award-winning, locally owned café inspired by the Mexican concept of Pueblo Mágico, or Magic Town, which are towns within Mexico that are deemed to be "magical", renowned for their history, cuisine, arts and culture, and beauty. Their direct trade partnerships with farmers in regions like Atoyac, Huatusco, and Chiapas ensure not only exceptional coffee quality, but also fair compensation and sustainable practices. By roasting these carefully selected beans in small batches in Calgary, they maintain perfect control over freshness and flavor profiles, bringing out the best characteristics of each region. Frida's Coffee Home serves specialty coffee, traditional Mexican drinks, and desserts not found elsewhere in the city. Their menu includes tres leches cake, flan, tamales, conchas, quesadillas, and other family recipes rooted in heritage, from Frida's grandmother’s coffee traditions to her mother’s desserts. Their vibrant mural and colorful space create a cultural landmark, making Frida’s a destination for visitors seeking authentic flavors and storytelling through food.
