Promoting Calgary
Find out how we are creating demand for Calgary near and far.
As Calgary’s destination management organization, we work hard to generate tourism demand and convert it to lasting economic and social benefits for the city. Growth happens in many ways, and our team focuses on driving visitation through the following areas.

Meetings & Conventions
Our role is to secure conferences and business events that fill hotel rooms, encourage delegate spending, and build Calgary’s reputation. This includes leading the bid strategy and business development, along with hosting site tours, attendance building and ensuring a lasting impression is created with our event services.
We work closely with venues like the expanded BMO Centre at Stampede Park, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, hotels, and city partners to convert leads into high‑impact pieces of business that benefit Calgary year‑round.

Sports & Major Events
Calgary is a sports city. We collaborate with rights holders, national and regional sports organizations, venues, and community champions to bid for, win, and host championship events. These events can be anything from grass-roots tournaments to international fixtures.
Our team works alongside facilities, mobilizes our city, supports marketing efforts, and maximizes the legacy impact of any given event to strengthen Calgary’s status as a premier sport city.

International Markets
Working with Travel Alberta, Indigenous Tourism Alberta, Destination Canada, and global trade partners, we elevate Calgary on the world stage. Our travel trade efforts target key international markets including Australia, China, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, United Kingdom, and the United States. We target high‑potential markets with sales missions, travel trade training, media relations, and co‑op campaigns. These efforts grow international awareness, support air access, and bring new visitors to the city.
In addition, we work locally to support businesses ready to take it to the next level – the international level – where they benefit from expanding marketing reach to upwards of 45 countries and almost 700 tour operators, wholesalers and clients.

Marketing
We tell Calgary’s story – the unlimited possibilities that await under our blue skies — through integrated brand, content, digital, social, earned, and paid campaigns. Our creativity combines with conversion‑driven marketing to ensure we are drawing attention to Calgary for leisure travel, meetings, and sport events.
Our team collaborates with local industry partners to ensure that our marketing campaigns drive real visitation and spend.
