The Subway Soccer Centre (SSC) is North America’s largest indoor soccer facility with approximately 1.6 million visitors each year. Plans are now in place for a permanent structure as a replacement building to the bubble that will be open in 2012. Construction of the “Fields for Life” campaign is underway converting 3 of the 4 outdoor fields to Artificial Turf. The SSC is a multiplex sports facility with over 260,000 sq ft of flexible space that can be converted to host a variety of special events, trade shows, tournaments, etc. Indoor lacrosse has exploded in Calgary and that sport takes over the facility from mid April to July. The indoor lacrosse season concludes each year at the SSC with the largest minor indoor lacrosse tournament in Canada on Canada Day weekend.
