It’s been known as Uptown 17th , the Red Mile, or simply 17th  Ave. But in 2013, after 17 years of the current Uptown brand, 17th Avenue has unveiled a fresh new look that reflects its vibrant personality and reputation as a local living landmark. 

The new brand is 17th Ave Retail & Entertainment District - a name that embraces Calgary’s much-loved colour while recognizing the area’s best assets.

Set in a lively outdoor environment the district spans 17th Ave between 2nd and 14th Street SW – close to downtown and Stampede Park. Boutique shops, fine-dining restaurants, lively lounges and inspirational cafes mix to create Calgary’s Retail & Entertainment District. There are also a host of salons and spas, business offices and services that include everything from tailors to dentists.
