Calgary's Bridgeland district is often referred to the city's "Little Italy," which seems like a natural place for an upscale Italian restaurant. Il Sogno is housed in the historic DeWaal Block, a brick and sandstone building that takes you down the architectural equivalent of memory lane, right back to the early 1900s when the neighbourhood was still brand new. Il Sogno's interior is a blend of the contemporary and the historic – modern touches exist alongside pressed tin roofs and white tablecloths.

The food is much like the ambience – classics paired with modern touches. The dishes are inspired by classic Italian ingredients, but prepared with contemporary touches. You'll find gnocchi, ravioli, seafood and ribeye on the lunch and dinner menus. The "Chef's Surprise" menu invites guests to enjoy a specially-prepared four-course meal of the chef's choosing.

Il Sogno also boasts an extensive wine list, as well as a selection of martinis and whiskeys. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and often hosts special events.
