Come experience the impact of earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and yes, even floods! Extraordinary weather cycles have helped shape the planet for billions of years. Sometimes those weather patterns lead to major weather phenomena. From tornados to volcanic eruptions, natural disasters can have grave consequences for humans who get in the way. The Science Centre’s new travelling exhibition, Nature Unleashed: Inside Natural Disasters, explores the science behind these events and our human responses to living with them. From Alberta and California to Krakatoa, these immense forces of geology and weather have shaped the planet and world we live in. How do they affect us? Can we prevent them? Should we even try? Explore these questions and more! Real artifacts and specimens, large multi‑media experiences and engaging interactive exhibits will allow you to come face-to-face with the inside of a tornado, and even create your own volcano or earthquake.
