The Newell Regional Tourism Association (NRTA) is a destination marketing organization serving the communities of the City of Brooks, Town of Bassano, Villages of Duchess and Rosemary, and the County of Newell.  Our goal is to provide destination awareness and to enhance tourism opportunities in the Newell region.

Located in the heart of Southern Alberta, within two hours of Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, the Newell region is the perfect place for a day trip or weekend getaway.  Home to over 136 individual cultures we are well known for being “The City of 100 Hello’s”.  The region’s main attractions include Dinosaur Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake Newell, one of the largest and warmest man-made lakes in Alberta and the numerous campgrounds, including three provincial parks.  Our unique landscapes make the region a desirable location for film and television production including titles like Heartland, RV, and The Revenant.

Events in our region help to highlight our diverse culture.  From celebrating our agricultural roots through numerous rodeos, hosting the International Jousting Tournament at our Medieval Faire, to enjoying the foods, dancing and costumes of our varied cultures at the Taste of Nations.

Accommodations in our area include a large number of hotels and motels, campgrounds, comfort camping and bed & breakfasts.  Our visitor information centre is located in the Brooks & District Museum, easy to access off Hwy #1.
