The town of Canmore is located on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies, 1 hour west of Calgary. Banff National Park lies just to the north and west of Canmore, with the town of Banff being only 15 minutes away. Coming from the Calgary Airport, it’s a straight forward 1.5 hour drive mainly along Highway 1, the Trans Canada Highway. There are a minimum of 10 daily and reliable shuttle departures directly from the airport. From the Calgary city limits, it’s a 1 hour drive along the Trans Canada Highway. Kananaskis Country encompasses 440 square kilometers of wildland areas and is situated adjacent to the town of Canmore. Many of the activities that take place in the area will take you in to Kananaskis Country.
