The Calgary International Blues Festival proves the Blues are about making you feel better – in this case by throwing a boisterous four-day musical party every August.
The festival takes place at Shaw Millenium Park, offering non-stop mainstage performances, a beer tent and nightly dance parties that run late into the night. Although this young festival is growing fast, it still has a strong community feel where the true blues faithful congregate to revel in a shared passion for the music.
Past performers include Colin James, Duke Robillard, Johnny Winter, Sonny Rhodes and local favourites like Tim Williams and Amos Garrett.
For an up-to-date artist line-up, visit the festival online.
