The Firefighters Museum of Calgary lets us all in on a piece of history we probably take too much for granted – that of the men and women who have and continue to serve in the Calgary Fire Department.

Established in 1986, the Firefighters Museum of Calgary is home to an extensive collection of firefighting equipment from the early 1900s to the present; including hand drawn, horse drawn and motorized apparatus. Their collection also includes photographs, artwork, memorabilia, and historical documents, many of which are currently on display.

The museum has long been famous for its fantastic collection of vintage fire trucks, and while not all of them have made the move to the new building, they're still around. The old building is being reorganized, and right now the trucks are being housed there. They can be viewed by appointment only.
