Step into a fully enclosed, four-passenger gondola cabin and let yourself be whisked to the top of Sulphur Mountain, where unforgettable views of the Canadian Rockies await.

The Banff Gondola is your ticket to one of the best vantage points in the  Canadian Rockies. Lasting eight minutes, the gondola ride takes you 698 metres to the Upper Terminal, which sits at an elevation of 2,281 metres.

Leading out of the terminal, the interpretive Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk reveals the natural beauty and fascinating history of the area. Walk along the summit ridge to the Cosmic Ray Station National Historic Site of Canada, and the historic Sanson’s Peak Meteorological Station.

Taking the unbelievable range of adventures in Banff National Park to a higher level, the Banff Gondola's new, state-of-the-art facilities offers visitors everything from passive observation to hands-on interactive experiences, coupled with a selection of food and beverage options. The new experience is truly Banff’s perfect mountaintop destination.

The Banff Gondola is located at the base of Sulphur Mountain at the end of Mountain Avenue in the town of Banff, AB, 130 km west of Calgary. Avoid the traffic and take advantage of the Banff Gondola’s Free Shuttle departing every 15 minutes from the Elk + Avenue Hotel & Evelyn’s Coffee World on Banff Avenue from May to September.
