Tourism Calgary launches national campaign to welcome visitors back to Calgary
Calgary, Alberta, July 3, 2013 – A big thank you to the dedicated workers and volunteers who have spent countless hours getting Calgary back up and running. As the City of Calgary prepares to end the local state of emergency, Mayor Naheed Nenshi, Tourism Calgary and a host of industry partners are excited to announce that Calgary’s doors are open, and we are ready to host the world.
On the day before the start of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, Tourism Calgary will launch a national marketing campaign featuring the mayor and Calgarians from a variety of tourism businesses sharing a message that Calgary’s doors are open. The summer tourism season is critical for tourism industry that employs one in 10 working Calgarians and contributes $1.4 billion in spending to local businesses.
Tourism Calgary along with its First Flip partners Calgary Economic Development, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, Downtown Calgary, Calgary Parking Authority and ATB Financial invite media, visitors and Calgarians to join us at the First Flip Pancake Breakfast.
