Overview

On June 20, 2013, heavy rainfall and meltwater combined causing the Bow and Elbow rivers to overflow resulting in floods in Canmore, Kananaskis, High River, Calgary and surrounding Alberta communities.

Our thoughts and best wishes go first and foremost to the people of the communities gravely affected by the events throughout the region. Calgary is recovering thanks to the tireless efforts of our first responders, our volunteers and the contributions of our whole community. In a time of crisis, Calgary is showing its true colors by pulling together for those in need.

As these areas work to recover from the floods, we understand that visitors have already arrived or are planning to arrive very soon. Please visit our FAQ section and local resources below for information and updates on the current situation.
