Learn the ropes like a real cowboy with a stay at a working guest ranch. The Homeplace Guest Ranch and Trail Rides give you a look at how the region's original settlers lived – on horseback.

When you arrive at the historic ranch, you're assigned a horse (and shown how to get comfortable). The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you're off for a full or half-day ride. Once the riding's done, you can relax in the hot tub, go for a hike, or, if you have a real thing for authenticity, help out with the ranch chores.

During the winter months, you can cross-country ski, hike, skate, or head to the mountains nearby for some snowboarding or downhill skiing.

The Homeplace Guest Ranch is between Bragg Creek and Priddis, off Hwy 22X just west of Hwy 22. If you're arriving by air, your hosts will pick you up at the Calgary International Airport.
